    Senior Vice President

Scott Evertz is a senior vice president who leads GA’s health policy practice, drawing on extensive international relations and global and domestic health policy experience for the firm’s public- and private-sector clients. He advises pharmaceutical, biotech and not-for-profit clients on communications and governmental relations strategies related to health policy. He is actively engaged with a number of organizations, such as the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Global Business Coalition and the Global Health Council. He attends a wide variety of international and domestic meetings focusing on HIV/AIDS policy and represents the firm’s clients in those settings as well as with key opinion leaders in the field of health in Washington D.C., New York and Geneva.

Before joining GA, Scott served as the director of the White House Office of National AIDS Policy under President Bush and was responsible for U.S. government and domestic international AIDS policy. He also served on the White House Domestic Policy Council. Following his service at the White House, Scott joined HHS Secretary Tommy G. Thompson as his special assistant for global AIDS initiatives. During his time in the administration, two signature AIDS initiatives were launched: the Global Fund and the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

A native of Washington D.C., Scott holds a B.A. in political science and theology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He returned “home” to D.C. to serve in the Bush White House and enjoys running to relieve the stresses of the nation’s capital. He has completed five marathons, including the Marine Corps Marathon in D.C. He loves to travel, which is good, given his position has him on many different continents throughout the year.
