Julie Franks brings experience in issues management, litigation support, social media programs, health care policy initiatives and coalition- and ally-development to Gibraltar Associates.
She has worked with large and midsized pharmaceutical companies to implement global, national and local public relations campaigns and has significant data and regulatory experience that includes medical meeting support, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approvals and FDA advisory committee hearings.
Previously, Julie worked at GCI Health, a health care public relations agency in New York, where she implemented public education campaigns and managed relationships with third-party organizations, health experts, physicians and patients. On behalf of her clients, she formed partnerships with health associations to develop educational materials for online tool-kits and community events. At GCI Health, she also worked with global health organizations to help accelerate access to vaccines in the developing world.
Prior to GCI, Julie worked at HealthSTAR Public Relations, a health care communications company, where she provided communications support for the over-the-counter switch of a weight-loss medication. She facilitated meetings with national, third-party organizations and key opinion leaders to garner support for the proposed switch. She also helped organize and launch an expert-driven policy initiative to increase awareness about realistic approaches to weight loss and educate the public and media on the significant health benefits associated with modest weight loss.
Julie received a degree in public relations from Penn State University (University Park), with minors in French and international studies.
