Terry Wade is a partner with nearly four decades of experience in Washington-based communications, media, public relations, government and politics. He has provided counsel and managed national and international campaigns for some of the nation's most prestigious companies, organizations and agencies.
Terry has established and managed two successful public relations agencies, served as a managing director for the world's largest public relations firm and as the chief operating officer for the largest political committee in the United States. He continues to play a hands-on role for clients, serving as a strategic counselor and advising senior-level managers on the development and implementation of effective communications, issues management and crisis preparedness plans.
Prior to joining GA, Terry established TheWadeGroup, Inc., in 2002, a consortium of public affairs professionals. Previously, he served as executive vice president for public affairs worldwide for Cohn & Wolfe, one of the world's top 15 public relations firms.
Before taking the worldwide post with Cohn & Wolfe, he served as the chief executive officer of Cohn & Wolfe/Washington. During Terry’s tenure, the office was recognized twice in a four-year period as the fastest-growing agency in the market. He came to Cohn & Wolfe from Burson-Marsteller (B-M), where he served as a managing director in B-M's Public Affairs Practice, putting his expertise to work for numerous Fortune 500 clients.
Before joining B-M, Wade was founder and president of LWM Communications, a public relations and advertising firm where he provided services to clients such as the American Gaming Association, the American Bar Association, The President's Drug Advisory Council, Coopers and Lybrand Consulting and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. At LWM, he wrote a crisis preparedness manual for the U.S. Department of Energy, trained department officials in media relations, issues management and crisis preparedness, and provided counsel on a number of controversial issues.
