John Procter

John Procter is a senior vice president and partner, leading the firm’s media relations efforts and securing coverage for clients in both traditional and new media outlets. John maintains relationships with journalists at most of the nation’s leading publications and television networks and consistently positions clients and their issues in the middle of the business and policy debates. He also manages several accounts in the medical device, health care, agriculture and technology fields and has extensive international project experience in Latin America and Europe.
Prior to joining GA, John was with the DCI Group where he served in a variety of campaign management, earned media development and spokesman roles for the firm's corporate and nonprofit clients. His work on behalf of a technology client was recognized in 2007 with the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) National Bronze Anvil for Media Relations in the category of Business to Business - Products.
Previously, he served as a press officer and spokesman for the Coalition Provisional Authority, and later, U.S. Embassy's Iraq reconstruction efforts in Baghdad. John was awarded the Department of Defense Joint Civilian Service Award for his work, which included executing press briefings, backgrounders and site visits throughout Iraq. Prior to his tour in Iraq, he was an associate at a boutique public relations firm in Virginia.
John holds a degree in international relations from The George Washington University and resides in Old Town Alexandria, VA, with his wife Vanessa.
